About this Event

Be an angel and help our community seniors this winter! Build food boxes, volunteer, or make a monetary donation to provide pet assistance, sponsor a senior, or give a care package to the Tempe Community Action Agency. You can stop by our office to pick up a Giving Tree tag or click on the link next to the holiday service you want to support. Then, scan the QR code to learn how to complete your REALTOR® Angels, Acts of Kindness by Tuesday, December 20.

Tempe Community Action Agency

Social isolation and sustained loneliness among our older adult neighbors can create significant barriers to individual and community well-being. Tempe Community Action Agency (TCAA) offers over forty years of experience in delivering programs and services that enhance the quality of life for seniors in our community by maintaining their independence and dignity. Its Senior Independence focus combines the best of its senior services experience with its expansive knowledge of the target population and the importance of nutritious, reliable food and social connections for healthy aging.

With help from volunteers and donors, TCAA provides a continuum of services to older adults, including access to lunchtime meals and activities at Tempe Senior Centers, transportation, food, case management, home-based support, and opportunities to serve. TCAA is looking to fulfill a variety of holiday services. 

1. Building Senior Food Boxes: View the list of items needed to help build a food box. Deliver food items to WeSERV Southeast Valley, and TCAA will pick them up. Build Food Boxes 
   
2. Volunteer Services: You can contact TCAA directly to become a volunteer. Volunteers have the option to assist with yard work, creating holiday/encouragement cards, or provide more in-depth services through the Neighbors Helping Neighbors Program. Volunteer 
   
3. Senior Pets Assistance: To a senior, it may be their only "family." You can make a monetary donation or deliver needs directly. TCAA will purchase pet food, and toys and provide funds for veterinary services when needed. Provide Pet Assistance
   
4. Senior Care Package: You can make a monetary donation of $50 to support a care package developed for seniors benefiting from TCAA programs. It's often a valued gift and can be their most special gift of the season. TCAA will purchase supplies. Provide a Care Package
   
5. Sponsor a Senior: You can make a monetary donation directly to TCAA to help support these services year-round. A $100 donation can support one senior through a year of services at TCAA. Sponsor a Senior
